Unable to setup oracle backup on a linux client. Backups failing with "ORA-19506: failed to create sequential file"
说明

The customer was trying to setup oracle backup using oracle 11.1 plugin on a RHEL 7 server. However the backup would not get configured properly and was failing with
"ORA-19506: failed to create sequential file, name="CPCINF139_sbil_local:#675:CPCINF142_sbil_local"
原因

Netvault client on the oracle server was not setup with the right permissions
解决办法

Logged in as Root verified umaskset to 0022 before installing netvault client.
Upon re-installing netvault properly and re-configuring the oracle client freshly, the backup worked successfully
