Mount-related failures for ReFS volumes that are higher versions than core OS supports -

Mountability checks are failing for protected system running Windows Server 2016 with ReFS file system and Exchange 2016.
The UI error:
Mail store 'ExDisk14Db' is not mountable. Error: 'The volume does not contain a recognized file system. Please make sure that all required file system drivers are loaded and that the volume is not corrupted. '

原因
Microsoft operating systems can only mount ReFS volumes from an equal or lower operating system. This is not a product limitation, but a Microsoft operating system limitation. The table shown in the ReFS Wikipedia page, shows ReFS version comparability. To summarize, ReFS versions are backwards compatible form newest to oldest, but are not forward compatible.
Any job that requires mounting a ReFS recovery point from an operating system higher than the core operating system will fail. Jobs in include, but are not limited too:
- Exchange mountability & checksum checks
- SQL attachability checks
- Integrity checks
- Mounting a recovery point
- Virtual exports
- Roll backs & BMRs

Work Arounds:
- Upgrade operating core operating system:
- If possible, upgrade core operating system to the latest supported Microsoft operating system. All jobs will now be successful.
- Replicate data needed to new/temp core with ReFS compatible operating system.
- If you cannot upgrade the operating system, here are suggested work arounds:
- Failures: Stop failures for automated jobs by disabling them: mountability, checksum, attachability, integrity checks.
- Restores:
- Mount RPs by installing LMU on server with ReFS compatible operating system and use LMU for restore. This will work for file level and mail restores.
- There is no work around for exports, rollbacks, or BMRs.
