gpt.ini is missing (4226294)

Error: Missing gpt.ini

GPT.INI can go missing due to any number of reasons, such as corrupt deployment, bad replication or it is accessed during a replication.

If the GPO in question is currently checked out, Undo Checkout. Then do the following:

• Check Out the GPO
• Approve the GPO
• Deploy the GPO
• Check SYSVOL to ensure gpt.ini got created

If the GPO will still not deploy

1. Open the Properties for the GPO in GPOAdmin and note the Unique ID
2. Locate the folder in SYSVOL with the name that matches the GUID from step 1
3. Create a new gpt.ini file with the following contents:
   [General]
   Version=0
4. Redeploy the GPO again.
