How to use the WinZip split file feature to email Support a huge zip file
解决办法
Problem: We need to send Support a file > 20 MB in size, even when zipped but Zendesk only allows a file attachment of 20 MB or smaller. Our firewall is not permitting us to access the erwin, Inc. sFTP site either.
Solution: How to use the WinZip split file feature to break a large zip file into multiple zip files and send Support the smaller zip files attached to separate emails.
In the below example the file we are dividing this way is 'martserver.war'. Your filename, of course, may be different.
Steps:
WinZip the file
Open the zip file using Winzip
Go to the Tools tab
Press Multi-Part Zip file
Type a filename and press OK
You will end up with the filename.zip and 9 smaller pieces (~ 10 files in all).
Now send Support 10 emails, each email containing one of the smaller pieces.
NOTE: you may have less or more than 10 pieces. As an example, the martserver.war file was sized 11 MB.
However, 1.zip is sized only 527 KB and 1.z01 is sized only 1.15 MB, and so on.
NOTE: if you run into problems extracting a split zip file and get this error,
WinZip The next part of this archive [filename_part2.zip] in the location you specified [C:\Users\...] does not appear to be different from the last part that was processed. Use it anyway?
I pick Yes.
WinZip Unable to find the local header for ..._8.0.4_FSDF8.0.4.1.1_FSDF8.0.4.1_FSDF8.0.4_FSDF8.0.3.1_FSDF8.0.3_FSDF_8.0.2_....erwin. [OK]
