The Winbackups volume is present and correctly listed in ApplianceProvisioningconfiguration.XML file on C:\
To resolve the issue, please perform the following steps:
- open CMD in "run as admin" mode
- verify that there's a 75GB gap on the controller using this command:
c:\Dell_OEM\BMR\perccli64 /c0 show freespace
- if there's a 75GB gap shown then continue with:
- open Dell OpenManage Server Administrator (OMSA)
- expand Main System Chassis, Storage, PERC (onboard 700-series)
- click on Virtual Disks
- create a new VD using Express method, RAID-6. It'll show available 75GB
- create a VD with any name, using that 75GB space
- select Winbackup VD, then click on actions drop-down and select delete. Winbackup VD will be deleted
- wait for 1 min, then open Core console, Appliance tab, RASR section
- click on Create Winbackup volume. It should complete successfully, creating a VD of 300GB in size
- (optional) there might be an error "Sequence contains more than 1 element". This is caused by 2 Winbackup volumes in the ApplianceProvisioningconfiguration.XML
- delete the wrong VolumeID entry using this KB article
https://support.quest.com/dl-series-backup-and-recovery-appliances/kb/220252/windows-backup-policy-cannot-be-configured-with-error-sequence-contains-more-than-one-element-
- configure Winbackup policy and execute it with "backup now"
