During an upgrade or re-install of RUU build 184 or 587 you receive the following error on DL Appliance SRM Web Service.
"DL Appliance SRM Web service installation failed. Legacy product with PID {52578EC7-AD3E-4159-BA8B-C17BDFC8C006} failed to uninstall."
Also, trying to install RapidRecovery 6.2, may get stuck in reboot loop, trying to uninstall DL Appliance Configuration Wizard
Use the Microsoft Uninstall Utility to remove the blocking program(s), then re-run the RUU installer.
Fix problems that block programs from being installed or removed
To resolve reboot loop with 6.2 please perform the following steps:
- locate RUU package for the current version
- run launchruu.exe in Run As Admin mode
- after RUU window pops up, locate the folder with extracted files. For RUU 3.2.78, it'll be under c:\Program Files\Apprecovery\DL\...\RUU
- copy all files aside to the any temporary folder
- close the RUU window
- open Control Panel, Programs and Features, select DL Appliance Config Wizard and select Repair
- installation wizard will prompt for the missing source
- point the source to the extracted temporary folder, where RUU files are located, and select FTBU.MSI
- DL Appliance Config Wizard will be repaired and can be uninstalled properly now
