Restoring a Hyper-V virtual machine fails with error System Error Code: 55 -
Description
- When attempting to restore a virtual machine to a Hyper-V host fails with the following error:
An error occurred while authenticating the user to the specified location using the supplied credentials. (System Error Code: 55)
- The wizard doesn't allow you to select a different path for the virtual machine restore.
- The path that is shown in the wizard does not exist and it doesn't reflect the original destination of the virtual machine.
