Description
Incremental or Differential backup fails of one VM or more VM's with error:
"Initialization of Backup Job Task failed for VM:. Reason: Can not have child savepoints without a parent available."
On Demand jobs will complete successfully.

Cause
For unknown reason the backup set which consists of a Full backup and number or Incremental’s or differentials of this particular VM is broken.

Resolution
There are two possible workarounds:
Please delete latest full and all differential/incremental backups which were created after latest full, please do this from vRanger GUI and not by going in to windows explorer.
Or
Delete and recreate the scheduled job, which will force a full next time backup is run of that VM
