When distributed switches are used the Virtual Machines (VMs) get a switch port ID number, so when the VM is replicated it gets the same port ID number.
The 2 Virtual Machines (VMs) can’t share the same switch port ID number.
1. Replicate the VM at least once -excluding any DVPortGroup network adapter
2. Modify the replication job to include the network adapter (check the box)
3. Run the job
4. Upon the next pass, the error will be reproduced (resource in use)
The work around is:
1. Edit the replica VM and add the DVPortGroup network adapter in the same vLAN as the source VM. This will give it a new (unique) DVPortGroup ID number
2. Re-run the replication job
