Tracing

Select the Spotlight Tracing options to collect additional information for Oracle, Oracle RAC, Predictive Diagnostics and Unix connections.

To change the Spotlight tracing option

  1. Select View | Options.
  2. Click Troubleshooting | Tracing.
  3. Select as required:

    Option Description
    Turn client tracing on Select to collect additional information (such as the output from operating system commands) for all Spotlight connections
    Turn server tracing on

    Select to collect further information on the alert log and archive destinations for all Spotlight connections.

    When selected, Spotlight collects information on items such as:

    • Initialization
    • The number of lines returned by queries
    • The commands used to retrieve files
    • Entries to, and exits from, procedures and functions

Note: Selecting these options enables Spotlight tracing for the current session only.
