I/O Segment Details - Prerequisite Steps

Before viewing I/O Segment Details, ensure you set the value of the Oracle statistics_level parameter from TYPICAL to ALL.

Note:  TYPICAL is the default STATISTICS_LEVEL setting recommended by Oracle. Setting the STATISTICS_LEVEL parameter to ALL instructs Oracle to collect additional information on timed OS statistics and plan execution statistics. This information is gathered (by default) every 5 seconds, and can add significantly to the target system's CPU usage and system load.

How to set the value of the Oracle statistics_level

  1. Open the Configuration & MemoryOracle Parameters Page.
  2. In the Oracle Parameters grid, right-click the statistics_level row, and select Modify parameter.
  3. Enter the value ALL in the Parameter value field, and choose a desired value for the scope field. (For more information, see the Oracle Parameters Page.)
  4. Click Update.
  5. Close and restart Spotlight, and return to the I/O | Segment Page.
  6. Click a segment in the Segment table to open I/O Segment Details.
