Spotlight on Oracle 10.10 - Release Notes

In-Memory Overhead Alarm

Note: Oracle In-Memory is available for Oracle 12c Release 1 (12.1.0.2) and above. Data is displayed for Oracle instances where In-Memory is available and has been enabled. In-Memory is disabled by default.

The In-Memory Overhead alarm is raised when the In-Memory database is using too much CPU.

The sum of Population Time, Prepopulation time, Repopulation Time and Trickle Repopulation Time is close to Total DB Time.

When this alarm is raised:

  • To investigate further see the Spotlight on Oracle Drilldown | In-Memory Page | In-Memory Overhead chart.
  • Consider disabling In-Memory if the costs outweigh the benefits.
