Event Log Rule Editor - Severity Details

Specify the minimum point at which an event log rule becomes valid.

To open the Event Log Rule Editor - Severity Details dialog

  1. Open Windows Event Log Metrics. Windows Event Log Metrics
  2. Click Add or highlight a rule and click Edit.
  3. Select action Raise alarm for this log item
  4. Click the underlined links relevant to this action.

About the Event Log Rule Editor - Severity Details dialog

Option Description
Raise an Alarm with: Severity:

The Windows events reported in the Event Log drilldown are assigned different levels of severity depending on the importance of the event.

Choose the minimum severity where you want the event to be reported in the Event Log drilldown.

Select the severity from

  • Information
  • Low
  • Medium
  • High
Tip text Enter a meaningful description of the rule.

After the Log Item Occurs:

time(s) in:

hour(s)

Define how often the rule must succeed before the corresponding Windows event is reported in the Event Log drilldown.
