Review the following solutions to help troubleshoot manual cluster installation:
In a cluster environment, when an instance of SQL is not running on the node from which you are installing LiteSpeed, you will receive the following type error message: "[Instance Name] does not appear to be running. Attempt to start it now?"
When asked to start the service, if you click Yes, you will receive the following type error message: "Invalid Login Details for: [Instance Name] -Login failed for user '[User Login]'".
There are two possible solutions to this issue:
Move the instance to the node on which you are currently running the LiteSpeedinstallation.
NOTE: Moving the instance involves a failover and users may select to do this during a maintenance window if they select the second option.
In a cluster environment, when the machine account of the node on which the LiteSpeedinstaller is being run does not have access to the other nodes in the cluster, you will receive the following type error messages:
"Cannot connect\open registry key"
or
"Failed Creating directories on the [Instance Name] node"
There are two possible solutions to this issue:
Using the Windows Computer Management tool, add the Computer object to the local Administrators group. Consult your operating system documentation for instructions on how to add a computer to the local Administrators group.
NOTE: You may select to remove the Computer object from the local Administrators group when the installation process is completed.
