Upgrade End User cartridges

The FxM 5.6.5 requires the latest version of the Agent Manager supported on your Management Server.

The 5.5.8.1 and later versions of the End User Cartridges require Management Server version 5.5.8 or later.

IMPORTANT: If you intend to use the Agent Manager with version 5.6.3 or later FTR agents and you are not yet using the Agent Manager (that is, if you are still using SPID), see Click Start Data Collection..

Follow the procedure below to upgrade the End User cartridges.

IMPORTANT: Prior to upgrading any cartridge or appliance, backup the Management Server database. For information about how to backup the Management Server database, see “Backing up Foglight” in the Foglight Administration and Configuration Help.

Upgrade the End User cartridges

If you do not have a particular End User cartridge, ignore the step(s) for upgrading that cartridge.

NOTE: The EU-Core Cartridge is required by all other End User cartridges.

Deactivate any End User agents

IMPORTANT: Deactivate any FxM agent before you upgrade the Management Server. FxM agent should not be reactivated until later in the End User cartridge upgrade process, as described below.

Deactivate any FxM agent using the Agent Status dashboard (Dashboards > Administration > Agents > Agent Status). Select the agent and click Deactivate.

NOTE: You can filter the list by entering either FxM or FTR in the Type box.

NOTE: If you are upgrading from a version 5.2.1 or earlier End User cartridge, it is recommended that you first upgrade to a version 5.5.x release before upgrading to the latest version. See the instructions in the Foglight 5.5.8 Upgrade Guide for details.

Upgrade the Foglight Management Server

Ensure that you have upgraded the Management Server to version 5.5.8 or later. For information on upgrading the Management Server, see Upgrade the Foglight Management Server .
