Reviewing the top-fastest growing tables and indexes by size

The Top Fastest Growing Tables & Indexes section displays a specified number of database objects that experienced the highest growth increment during the specified time range.

IMPORTANT: The incremental growth criterion for displaying database objects in this table—either by size or by number of rows—is determined using the SQL Azure agent properties. For details, see Foglight for SQL Azure Reference Guide.
Upon selecting the requested number of database object from the list, the table displays the following details for each object:

Owner Name
The name of the table or index owner
Object Name
The name of the selected database object
Index Name
The name of the selected index
Percent of DB
The percentage the database object occupies within the total database size
Rows
The number of rows in the database object
Percent of Actual DB Cost
The percentage the selected database object occupies within the total database size (including the free space)
Growth Increment
The growth, in megabytes, which the selected object has undergone during the selected time range

Reviewing the growth of a specific database object

Upon selecting a specific row in the Top fastest growing objects table, the Growth by section displays the growth of the specific object over the specified time range.

Reviewing the Estimated Storage Cost

The Estimated Storage Cost panel allows viewing the daily storage cost over the last several days, as defined in the selected time range, and determining the suitability of the business edition in use, compared with the current database size.
Using this panel allows carrying out the following tasks:

Reviewing the database user account and cost settings—using the Properties and Storage Cost Model panes. These panes provides the same information found on the Database > Storage > Properties section, with the addition to the Database size parameter, which displays the database’s reserved space. For details, see Reviewing the database properties on page 45.

Reviewing the estimated storage cost per day during the specified time range—using the Daily Cost chart. For details, see Reviewing the Estimated Storage Cost per Day on page 47.
•
Reviewing the estimated total storage cost during the specified time range, as a result of the utilized database edition—using the Daily Cost table. For details, see Reviewing the database growth and the resulting storage price on page 45.
•
Reviewing the daily cost’s changes during the specified time range—using the Estimated Storage Cost Changes chart. For details, see Reviewing the growth of a specific database object on page 47.

Reviewing the Estimated Storage Cost per Day

The Daily Cost section contains a chart that displays the daily storage cost per day for the number of days specified in the selected time range, for which data is available.

IMPORTANT: As the estimated daily storage cost is calculated at the end of the whole day (midnight), no storage cost is available for the current day, and the bar representing this day is shown as empty on the chart. For example: if selecting a one-week time range on October 10th at 13:30, the chart displays data for the week that ended on October 9th at midnight, leaving the bar representing October 10th as empty.
Hovering the mouse on each of the bars that represent a daily cost displays the estimated storage cost for the selected day.
