Save File As Dialog

To open the File Save As Dialog

  1. Select the Spotlight on Oracle connection in the Spotlight Browser.
  2. Click one of:
    • Configuration & Memory | Alert Log
    • SQL & Application Workload | Analyze Trace | Raw Trace File

  3. Click Save as...

Control Description
Save as

The name and location of the file to be saved.

Click Browse to open the Windows dialog to rename and change the location of the file.

How much of the file to save?
Option Description
Save the whole file Save the whole Alert Log / Raw Trace file.
Save only the first Save the top of the Alert Log / Raw Trace file to the size supplied in the MB textbox.
Save only the last Save the bottom of the Alert Log / Raw Trace file to the size supplied in the MB textbox.
Save only the first and last Save the top and bottom of the Alert Log / Raw Trace file to the size supplied in the MB textbox.
Adjust line ending character (not suitable for non-text files)

Select if the monitored database is installed on a Unix server and you want to view the file in Notepad.

When selected, Spotlight on Oracle will edit the file to replace single line-feed instances with carriage-return line-feed.
