It is possible to enable the extended logging not only by modifying the registry key but also through the Recovery Manager for AD console as well.

To enable extended logging in the console follow the below steps:
Right-click on Recovery Manager for Active Directory (top node in console) choose Settings and on the General tab check the "Use diagnostic logging".
Then reproduce the issue and collect the log files from the below locations:
Recovery Manager for Active Directory console:
Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Quest Software\RMAD\Logs
Agent Logs can be gathered from the target Domain Controller:
C:\WINDOWS\QuestRecoveryManager
**Note - If Recovery Manager for Active Directory is installed on a Windows 2008 machine then the log files will be located in C:\Users\All Users\Quest Software\RMAD\Logs ('All users' folder may be hidden).
**WARNING - Do not forget to disable the debug logging (disable the option "Use diagnostic logging's") once the logs have been collected.
