Title
When protecting a machine the error "Cannot be protected with the Encryption Key 'KeyName from Core' in the status 'ReplicationKey'" is displayed -
Description
The most likely scenario is that a machine was replicated from a Core where it was protected with an encryption key. During replication, with the recovery points, the encryption key is also sent on a locked state and will be stored with type "Replicated". When attempting to take over the protection of the system on the incoming replication Core, the following error message is displayed:
Cannot be protected with the Encryption Key 'KeyName from Core' in the status 'ReplicationKey'

Cause
Protection of the machine cannot be taken over unless the encryption key is changed to "Universal" type.

Resolution
1. From the More menu (Three dots upper left corner of the Console), select "Encryption Keys"
2. Click the three dots on the right of the Replicated key and select "Unlock"
3. Enter the passphrase and remove the lock from the key
4. Again, click the three dots next to the Replicated key and this time select "Change the type to Universal"
5. Confirm by entering the passphrase again
6. The machine can now be protected by the Core
