In order to stop the kernel module from loading:
Use a text editor such as Nano or Vi to append the line “install rapidrecovery-vss /bin/true” in file “blacklist.conf” which is located in directory /etc/modprobe.d/
Execute“sudo update-initramfs -u” in the bash prompt and reboot the server.
After server reboot execute “lsmod |grep vss“ in the bash prompt, and then verify that the module is not loaded.
Then proceed to uninstall the old agent software and install the new Rapid Recovery Agent version. Remove the inserted line in the blacklist.conf file and execute a “sudo update-initramfs -u”. Reboot the server
NOTE: In some cases, the install might take between 5 to 15 minutes.
