Since recently changing the storage location of two data volumes from a direct attached iSCSI SAN to vhdx on local storage, the system logs this error every time a backup occurs:

To resolve the issue, please locate and uninstall all traces of the software, that is creating virtual drives.
If this is not possible, this error message can be safely ignored according to the Microsoft KB article: VDS Basic Provider event ID 1 is logged on a Hyper-V guest operating system
