ESXi Export Fails With Overall space needed is greater than the data store maximum file size (4038482)

ESXi export for Agents with disk(s) larger than 2 TB fails with 'Overall space needed is greater than the data store maximum file size (2048 GB).'

AppAssure fully supports exports larger than 2 TB from 5.4.1 going forward.

Failure is due to limitation of the datastore. The current configuration of the datastore only allows for VMDK's up to 2 TB in size. See Support for virtual machine disks larger than 2 TB in VMware ESXi 5.5 and Block size limitations of a VMFS datastore for reference.

Solution:

1. First verify issue: Create blank test VM with volume larger than 2 TB. If you can, datastore configuration is not the issue. Contact AppASsure Support and open a Service Request for issue.
2. If issue is verified, the datastore will need to be reconfigured to allow for VMDK's larger than 2 TB. Contact your VMware administrator or VMware Support.
3. Once datastore allows for volumes larger than 2 TB, you may run virtual export to ESXi host.
