Trying to open Log Reader wizard with 2 factors autthentication

When proceeding through log reader wizard, received various failure errors when attempting to write xp_logreader.dll (and extended stored procedures) to SQL Server hosts. Sometimes the message "the parameter is incorrect" is seen and sometimes "write to file failed". Verified permissions in local admin for user and also attempted against multiple hosts.
