At unpredictable times, when the commands issued in some menus and the Schema Browser, such as drop table, or deleting a column appear to work, the SQL which is issued to the database is actually incorrect. Once you refresh the window, the data remains in Toad and the database. Upon restarting Toad the issue goes away, but returns after a period of time, which can be soon after opening Toad, or weeks after.
Toad uses its internal script runner (QSE.DLL) to do these actions (drop tablespace, etc) on behalf of the user. On occasion, the QSE.dll intermittently fails, and this is what causes this issue to occur.
WORKAROUND:
Restarting Toad will 'reset' this issue, but it may re-occur again in some time of using the application.
STATUS:
Waiting for fix in a future release of Toad for Oracle
