Message says trial key will expire soon, but not able to open even though not expired yet

Launching a trial version and get a message saying that the trial key will expire in x number of days. It gives the option to enter a new key or purchase now. After selecting to enter a new key, a window appears to enter that new key. Since there is not a new key at this time, we close the window and Toad does not open. How can we get Toad to open from this message window?
