Users report "Cannot connect to Windows host 'ServerName' : Access is denied. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070005 (E_ACCESSDENIED)) (requires acknowledgement)" error.
The Spotlight client shows the following in the system event log - DCOM 10036 "The server-side authentication level policy does not allow the user Domain\User SID (###) from address ### to activate DCOM server. Please raise the activation authentication level at least to RPC_C_AUTHN_LEVEL_PKT_INTEGRITY in client application."
WORKAROUND #1:
Apply Microsoft patch outlined in the below page to the monitored server.
1. Towards the bottom of this page, locate the appropriate KB article based on the Windows version of the monitored server.
2. Find the patch released on November 8, 2022, listed on the left side of the KB article page.
3. Download and install the patch on the monitored server. Restart the server.
