There are situations in which data corruption may occur due to a RAID disk failure and need to restore DC using Bare Metal restore method. -
해결 방안
We do not recommend a Bare Metal restore in this scenario.
Recovery Manager for AD Disaster and Recovery is not a DC recovery tool. It's a Forest or Domain recovery tool. Doing a Bare Metal restore of that single DC would make it the only DC in the domain/forest.
Instead, in this case we would recommend to:
- Seize FSMO roles to another DC if the failing DC holds any.
- Rebuild your server, and install the OS.
- Clear out the metadata of the lost DC from the directory (Computer account object and Server object).
- If you want to use DRE, create a forest recovery project using Repromotion Mode. Then, set this DC to use "Install AD" method. If you would like to use IFM, select a current backup from another DC in the domain. All other DCs should be set to the "Do Nothing" method... Or, simply DCPromo your domain controller manually.
