When trying to manually switch a user he following error is seen in the Switch wizard and repeated in the EmwMigration log

When switching to Office 365 the following stack trace can bee seen under the error:
Cause 1: This can be caused by the account used to access the ADAM\AD-LDS database has been disabled or the credentials changed or the password expired.
Cause 2: This can be caused by changing the password for the Office 365 account. MMEX console logs neither Office 365 account name nor Office 365 requisites, but actually tries connecting to Office 365 and fails due to the password being wrong.
Resolution 1: Re-enabing the account or resolving whatever has put the account into a non standard status should resolve the issue immediately.
Since the error point to the fact that there was an authentication issue, access to ADAM/ADLDS was not blocked but authentication has failed.
Resolution 2: If the password for Office 365 account has been changed, it should be retyped in the following two placed:
- Migration Manage4r for Exchange console: Target Exchage Organization Properties
- Directory Migration console application: Connections tab.
Service accounts for the product should be exempt from regular auditing and should not be changed for any purpose. Should there be an administrative need to change the credentials for and Service accounts the proper steps can be found in the following article.
