Cannot run SQLDIAG on Itanium or on SQL Server 2005 Symptoms may include:
- When the Sqldiag.exe process starts, the CPU usage may reach 100 percent.
- If the SQLdiag utility is running as a console application, you do not receive any output in the console window.
- The Sqldiag.exe process stops responding.
"Failed Assertion" and "Access Violation" error messages may be displayed when running SQLDIAG on Itanium server.
Microsoft issues.
The resolution for SQL Server 2005 is included in Service Pack 1 and the resolution for Itanium servers is included in the SQL Server 2000 post-Service Pack 4 hotfixes which are both available from Microsoft.
