How to connect to the K2000 Appliance using MySQL Workbench (4311113)

The MySql Workbench (or other ODBC tool) can be used to access the K2000 database.  This is useful when you want to browse the schema or create custom reports for deployments, etc.

To access the K2000 database using MySQL Workbench, perform the following steps:

1. On the K2000, browse to Settings & Maintenance | Security (v4.x: Settings-> Control Panel-> Security Settings)
2. Click on the Edit button and then check the box to Allow Offboard Database Access. (v4.x: check the box next to "Allow Offboard Database Access")
3. The K2000 will reboot. (v4.x: After clicking on the SAVE button the Security Settings will be saved and no server reboot is required)
4. Open MySQL Workbench
5. Click New Connection.
6. Fill out the following blocks:

•           Connection name:  Name the connection.
•           Hostname:  IP address or FQDN of your K2000 appliance.
•           Username:  report
•           Password:  box747

   4.  After filling out the appropriate blocks, click Test Connection to verify that you can access the K2000 database.

    5.  Click OK.  This will bring you back to the MySQL Workbench front page.  Click on the connection you created under "Open Connection to Start Querying" and this will bring you inside the DB.  Click KBDB to the right of the webgui and this will reveal the schema.
