When uploading Linux source media, the KACE Systems Deployment Appliance (SDA) automatically creates a Linux boot environment. This article will provide a step-by-step explanation using Ubuntu Server as an example.

To create a Linux Boot Environment:
Go to Library | Source Media | Choose Action | Download Media Manager
After the file downloads (e.g.: kmediamanager.msi), run the installation as an administrator
Launch SDA Media Manager (kmediamanagerwin.exe)
From the desktop shortcut
From install location (e.g.: C:\Program Files (x86)\Quest\SDA Media Manager)
From the General Settings tab on the left, fill out the SDA Information
SDA Hostname
SDA IP Address
SDA Samba Password
To verify connection, click on Test SDA Connection
Ensure that the desired ISO is mounted or inserted in the DVD drive
Go to the Upload Source Media tab on the left
Provide a Source Media Name
Logical name which will describe the media (e.g.: ubuntu18.04.3)
Leave the Source Media Type on Auto-Detect
Click Browse to browse to the Source Media Path (e.g.: DVD / Mounted Drive)
Click Upload Source Media
When the media is successfully uploaded a message box will appear
