How to configure the repository to exclude SQL statements from the explain plan being analyzed?
You can exclude sql statements from explain plan for specific database user.
Since build 6.3.43 and up, there is an option on the repository to exclude sql statements from the explain plan.
The procedure to use this option, besides having to upgrade to the stated version, please follow these steps:
1. Create a file that will contain the keys for all user ids you wish to ignore during explain plan change tracking.
In order to create this file, perform the following steps:
1.1 Create an xml file named excluded_users.xml under:
<install_dir></install_dir><install_dir>/agentsStealthCollect/6.0/<host-instance>/<host-instance></host-instance>quest_sc_rep/data.
1.2 The file will have the following structure:
<excluded_users>
<user name=user name1/>
<user name=user name2/>
</excluded_users>
1.3 Replace user name1<user></user>with the user name you want to exclude from the explain plan sqls.
a. You can get the user name from the following SQL:
select
DB_USER_KEY, DB_USERNAME
from
QUEST_INSTANCE_DIM i, QUEST_DB_USER_DIM u
where
i.host=<hostname><host></host> and
i.instance_name = <instance><instance></instance> and
i.instance_key=u.instance_key
2. Restart Performance Analysis.
To find out which version of Performance Analysis you have installed, open the Agent Administration and check the version there.
Or you can go to <install_dir><install></install>/pa_agent/<port><port></port>/agents/StealthCollect/6.0/bin and run the following commands from the commandline:
quest_sc_mw -version
quest_sc_rep -version
quest_sc_collector -version
