  Get error " The setup is unable to detect Installation directory for MAJOR Update" while installing latest version Content Matrix SharePoint Edition Console

• 설명

  Installation not working for latest CM version 8.8.0003. Here is the error message details

  ---------------------------

  Content Matrix Console - SharePoint Edition - InstallShield Wizard

  ---------------------------

  The setup is unable to detect Installation directory for MAJOR Update (Enable msi logging for more details : msiexec /i setup.msi /l*v logfile.txt). The setup will now exit!

  ---------------------------

  ---------------------------

• 해결 방안

  1. Remove/uninstall old Content Matrix Console version first properly using old version "installation wizard" (run old version using old version ContentMatrix_setup.exe file as an admin to get installation wizard and click remove Content Matrix Consoles)

  2. Install latest version now

   

  Note: Uninstalling old version from Programs and Features is not a best practice
