Even after changing the time zone for an Alert from Alert Properties in the CA Client,
The Time Detected and Time Received variables in the Alert body that comes in Emails always shows as (UTC/GMT)
Date/Time Detected: 07/01/2013 10:58:21 - (UTC/GMT)
Date/Time Received: 07/01/2013 10:58:21 - (UTC/GMT)
rather than
07/01/2013 10:58:21(UTC+03:00) Nairobi
The Alert Body Configuration (Event Details tab) has the Variable set to (UTC/GMT)
You need to change the variable in the Alert Body Configuration for the Alert
To affect changes to all alerts go to
Administration tasks - Coordinator - Configure Body - Event Details
Click on restore to default - this make the following change
Change Time Detected & Time received variable from (UTC/GMT) to %TIMEZONE%
or
if you just want to change 1 alert
in the alert body click on Configure Email- Configure Body - Event Details
Untick "Use the Global Event Detail"
then change
Change Time Detected & Time received variable from (UTC/GMT) to %TIMEZONE%
All email alerts for this will now how the UTC time the event was capture but also include the time zone difference
eg 07/01/2013 10:58:21(UTC+03:00) Nairobi
