Workflow Notifications not picking up Approved request via email -
Description
An error message similar to the following may appear in the GPOADmin log files for the Approval workflow configured for Exchange Online:
2025-05-16 15:25:43Z, Failed to retrieve the version controlled object with the version control id '6b3ab073-499c-4e60-94c0-f1eb11065b16'.
System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

Cause
The object with the ID referenced in the GPOADmin log files may no longer exist while having a pending approval request.

Resolution
To resolve this issue, follow these steps:
1. Access the Service Account's Mailbox:- Log into the service account’s email box.
2. Locate the Approval Email:
- Search for the approval email associated with the item ID appearing in the error message.
- The ID will be visible in the email subject line.
- If needed, locate the oldest unread email by date.
3. Move the Email:
- Transfer this email to another folder within the mailbox.
- Once moved, the system will stop attempting to process the approval request.
