Users receive “invalid credentials” or “authentication failed” messages despite correct passwords. This affects all or specific user sets.
RESOLUTION
On-Premises AD → DOMAIN\Username.
Cloud/O365 → user@company.com (UPN).
3. In IIS Manager → select Archive Manager site → Authentication:
On-Prem deployments → Enable Windows Authentication, disable Anonymous and Forms.
O365 deployments → Enable Forms Authentication and Anonymous, disable Windows Authentication.
Test with a known good on-prem and cloud account to verify successful login.
