Whilst the majority of stubbed messages are successfully reconstructed there are certain messages stubs that do not reconstruct.
Additionally the Message Class will not change from IPM.Note.Aftermail to IPM.Note.
When Outlook is closed a dialog appears saying "the message has changed do you want to save changes?".
Opening the message from the Archive Manager website opens correctly.
The MAPI property @OriginalMessageClass is blank on the message stub and so prevents the Outlook Form from reconstructing the stub back into a normal message.
Product Defect ST99883 logged to prevent the missing @OriginalMessageClass property.
Product Defect ST100979 logged to repair existing stubs with missing @OriginalMessageClass property.
STATUS
Fixed in Archive Manager 4.6 and higher.
WORKAROUND
1. Open the Exchange mailbox in MFCMAPI and locate the message stub
2. Locate and open the following MAPI named property: @OriginalMessageClass
3. Populate the property with the following text string: IPM.Note
4. Close the message and MFCMAPI
5. Open Outlook, locate the message and open it, the Outlook Form will now be able to reconstruct the stub and the message class will change to IPM.Note.
This happens when a stubbed message is forwarded from within the Outlook Form.
To prevent this happening users should:
1. Double click a message to force reconstruction.
2. Close the message.
3. Click off of the message (Open another message)
4. Open the original message again.
5. Once the Message shows with the normal blue Outlook window it can be safely forwarded.
