Recommended Operating Systems for a Replication Share, and Replication share limitations
When creating Replication Shares it is recommended that you use a server-class Operating System like Windows Server 2003, 2008, and above.
Windows client Operating Systems such as Windows XP and Windows 7/10 have a limited number of concurrent inbound connections. They are limited to 10 and 20 respectively. This is generally not suitable for a replication share.
NOTE: If there are more than the allowed number of machines accessing the Replication Share, those other machines will NOT be able to access it because of the aforementioned limit. The error message from the K1000 client is similar to below:
