The Exporting task should be run at the end of the day and allowed to run over night.
Exporting items from the K2000 appliance is an internal task and cannot be run in tandem other internal task. This means that while exporting, the K2000 appliance cannot re-cache drivers, create scripted installs, or rebuild boot environments. Select a few at a time or your Exports will not complete. Ensure Exports are complete before selecting your next Export.
Importing Images takes much longer then it took to export them,
When an image is exported, it has to find all the files associated with that image and package them all into one PKG file. When the process is reversed, the image files have to be checked against the K2000 image store to ensure only unique files are uploaded. This process can take a very long time depending on the sized and number of the image. Again, importing during off hours and only run a few images at a time to allow them to complete prior to your need to use the K2000 appliance again.
Do not reboot or make any settings changes to the following Settings and Maintenance items while exporting is taking place:
Making changes to the above settings will cause the K2000 appliance to reboot and that will end the export process and lock the ability to use the Exports tab. Indicators this has occurred are that the Exports page will display a status of either "Completed" or "Exporting..." next to each item you were exporting but the Currently: status will show Idle on the upper right hand corner of the webui. A member of support or engineering will need to access the K2000 through the tether and clear the error. You will need to contact KACE Technical Support to resolve this issue.
