KACE Response to Samba Vulnerability (CVE-2021-44142)
Description

Recently, a samba vulnerability related to the VFS module vfs_fruit was released (CVE-2021-44142).
Information regarding it can be located here
Resolution
The KACE Systems Management Appliance (SMA) does not use vfs and is not affected by this vulnerability.

If access to samba is not needed, it can be disabled by doing the following:
1. Navigate to Settings | Control Panel | Security Settings
2. Under Samba, uncheck Enable File Sharing
3. Click Save and Restart Services
