When trying to configure an Active Directory discovery against a remote domain the following error my occur when trying to add the domain to the discovery scope:
"The specified domain does not exist or could not be contacted"
Ensure the discovery is configured to run using alternate credentials, using credentials from the remote domain in the format DomainShortName\Username. From the object picker, where the error message occurs, right click Active Directory, select Add domain and enter the FQDN of the remote domain. If the domain is not added and enumerated, ensure there are DNS forwarder entries for the remote domain so that the the domain can be queried and resolved properly, returning a list of DCs from the domain.
If there are any firewalls between the domains ensure the necessary ports are open:
