How to activate a disabled patch -
Description
Patches that you subscribe to and have been marked as inactive to prevent them from being detected or deployed automatically, will be disabled. -
Cause
When patches are not included under the subscription section, will download as disabled and accessing the patch details will not display an available option to enable them. -
Resolution
1- Create a smart label for those patches you want to enable. For details: https://support.quest.com/technical-documents/kace-k1000/6.4/administrator-guide/28#TOPIC-369927
2- Go to Patch Management | Subscriptions | Application Patches, add the related publishers and the smart label to the patch download subscription under "Advanced Options"
3- Detect Disabled Patches: Enable the appliance to identify disabled patches when it runs a Detect job.
If this option is selected, the signatures for disabled patches are downloaded for detection purposes only. Patches cannot be deployed unless they meet the subscription criteria.4- Start downloading patches. When completed, the selected patches included under the smart label will change status to inactive (they are not downloaded yet). Change the status of them to active and start downloading patches again, once completed, the selected patches will be ready to be deployed.
