There is a lack of clarity on how the FLR disk mount process works. This causes confusion for users when it fails.
In all versions of vRanger newer than 3.x, when a user selects an FLR, the vRanger FLR service (UsdiService.exe) functions as a viewer for the .var file. The file is opened by the service and the user is presented with a top-level view. From this location, the user can browse through any partitions or directories that he has the rights to explore. The mount point for this virtual disk is at the %USERPROFILE%\appdata\Local\Temp location of the current logged-in user profile.
Because of this selection of a mount point, if the appdata location of the profile is on another host, the FLR mount will fail. It is possible to view the location of the appdata location by opening a command window and typing "set %USERPROFILE%"
