VA-based VDDK HotAdd backup failing over to VA-based VDDK network backup.
The following is example from task log:
Backup task using VA-based VDDK HotAdd failed: An internal error occurred during execution, please contact Quest support if the error persists. Error Message: 3201 - can't open [data store] VM NAME/VM NAME-000001.vmdk. Check the manual for compatibility issues when attempting Lan-free operations.
Backup task will be attempted using a VA-based VDDK network connection.
Generally this happens when trying to backup a VM with an open snapshot. VDDK hot add backups are not supported on VMs with pre-existing snapshots.
NOTE: The same behavoir exists when trying machine based hot add when vRanger is running on a VM.
If you want to take advantage of hot add backups please delete all manually created snapshots on VM's.
