After a replication/consolidation VM may become unresponsive for a long period of time.
Symptoms include:
-High CPU utilization
-Unresponsive VM
-VM unbootable
One of the main factors that could cause this is incompatible block sizes on the source and destination datastore.
In other words, replicating from a source datastore with a block size of 8MB to a destination datastore with the block size of 4MB could cause this type of issue.
To correct this:
Make sure block sizes are equal, or make sure the taget datastore's block size is not smaller than the source.
See KB link in "Additional Information" for more info on Block Size discrepancies and guidelines.
