Can't assign a license to an ESX host. Able to select and license (yellow key) the host in Tools menu ->Options ->Licensing but in My Inventory the license key next to the ESX host is gray and not yellow.
There may be an issue with the license file. Please try the following:
This will delete the license entry in the database. Please make sure you have your original license file available.
1. Install SQL Server Management Studio
2. Open SQL Server Management Studio and connect to the server\instance
3. Run the following SQL query on the VRANGERPRO database
Sqlcmd –Q “DELETE FROM vRangerPro.dbo.License WHERE ProductName=’vRanger’”
3. Restart the vRanger service
4. Start vRanger Pro and reapply the license file
