When restoring a vm that has non-standard disk geometry vRanger does not restore the proper disk geometry, thus leaving the disk unusable and vm unbootable. Backups and FLR are successful.
This is usually the result of a physical server that was converted to a vm using VMware Converter.
This cannot be resolved in vRanger:
There is nothing we can quite fix here. VMware does not give access to disk geometry via their API in any of the following ways:
* When we store the the VirtualMachineConfigInfo it contains no data of the geometry.
* AsWhen go to create a virtual machine via the API, VMware provides no means to specify the disk geometry
If you have access to the original vm edit the geometry in the new descriptor file to match the original descriptor file.
