Cause
This is because the virtual appliance is configured by default as VM Version 4, which is not compatible with some AMD 6xxx series processors.

Resolution
To resolve this problem, upgrade the virtual appliance to VM hardware version 7. For more information, and instructions on upgrading your VM hardware, see the VMware KB Article Virtual machine hardware versions.
