  The Rapid Recovery Core service crashes with .NET Framework errors if the Repository was created with a different "Average Bytes Per Record" than 8192

• Description

  The default "Average bytes per record" of a repository is "8192". If a repository has been created a different value, it may cause the service to crash.

  Example:

  

  This can be verified on the following registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\AppRecovery\Core\Repositories\xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxx\FileConfigurations\x\Specification\AverageBytesPerRecord

  

• Cause

  This has been identified as defect RR-110927. Our development team is working towards including a fix for a future release of Rapid Recovery.

• Resolution

  The Repository needs to be re-created with the setting "Average Bytes per Record" set to default "8192".
