After starting a backup, the backup software can show that the target is disconnected, or that the backup is failed.
Most commonly with VTL over Fibre Channel or Copper connection.
This is a known issue and we have no current resolution to this as the issue is with network synchronization.
When backing up to VTL every packet is timestamped and required to be delivered in order.
Ensure time synchronization efficiency by having the DR on the same subnet as the domain- or backup server.
For each DR (VM or physical) check that the DR network configuration is correct. If the settings for NTP and network is correct, we can conclude that the issue is not with the DR itself. The cause of the issue will be in the network environment, physical hardware or configuration.
